Mobile Company of Iran BTS antennas top 15,520: report

Mobile Company of Iran (MCI) is the first nation wide mobile operator.
BTS is the equipment which facilitates the wireless communication between user equipments like mobile and the network.
The number of such antennas was 5,394 on 21 September 2005, the report added.
According to figures issued by the telecommunication ministry, there were 26,525,016 active mobile phone lines by June 21 2008, which shows an increase of 19,561,882 since 21 September 2005.
“The number of cities providing the service across the country is now 1055,” the report said.
“۸۹,۰۰۰ kilometers of the countrys roads are covered by MCI, which was 26,000 kilometers on 21 September 2005,” the report added.
