Mobile Company of Iran contract amendment for 0919 roaming

“Until then the prepaid sim cards will not have roaming connections until next year,” director of roaming of MCI Abbas Lotfian told Mobna news agency.
“In the first phase of the amendment, the prepaid sim card of those foreign operators who are in contract with MCI may use the service, but in the second phase, however, roaming service for 0919 sim cards will be established,” he added.
He said that efforts have been made to establish roaming link for MCI prepaid sim cards with countries concerned, and so far the efforts have been successful.
He said that to establish roaming service for prepaid sim cards its tariff must be determined and it takes time.
He said the problem with establishing roaming link for prepaid sim cards is the credit which has to be resolved somehow so that it is updated online.
He indicated that MCI postpaid sim cards have now roaming link with 230 operators across the world each having its own tariff, although for prepaid sim cards there should be a single tariff.
MCI now has 27 million subscribers, of whom 10 million are prepaid sim card owners.
