Abbas Lotfalian, in conversation with MOBNA, said with the completion of the present schedule and the pilot phase, 1st Operator roaming link with 9 thousand villages will be established by next June which will be covered by Mobile Telecommunication Network.
He indicated that the test has already been carried out in Guilan Province, although the billing system remains to be completed.
He said in the trial phase 650 villages including 224 in Rasht, 216 in Lahijan and 218 in Talesh were covered and 90 BTS sites started operation.
He added that the test will be subsequently extended to other provinces.
The roaming link will be one-way, however, and only for 1st Operator subscribers.
The WLL system is used in villages where cable communication is not possible and its tariff is the same as for landline phone.
