۱۵ BTS sites in Tehran shared by mobile phone operators

“Mobile operators are expected to share BTS antennas as much as possible, although WiMax operators are exempted,” Majid Mokhtarnia told Mobna news agency.
He said the problems that such operators had with the Tehran Municipality had substantially eased after formation of Site Sharing Company by representatives from operators and the Municipality.
“Adjacent BTS sites are to be dismantled and replaced by one shared site,” he added.
“To install a BTS site, permission by the Municipality is necessary, which at times impedes the process but accepted as inevitable,” he said.
MCI has around 35 million pre- and postpaid subscribers of whom one third reside in Tehran.
