“It is expected that in the first year of the activity, because of infrastructure completion, we shall not have many subscribers but in the following years the service will face substantial demand,” Hosein Riazi told Mobna news agency.
“Mobin Net has received Wimax license in 30 provinces from the Radio Communication and Regulations Organization and is awaiting tariff determination by RCRO,” he said.
“Mobin Net will first cover densely populated areas. At present time it has installed BTS antennas in such regions. It will next offer Wimax service in low populated areas,” he added.
Riazi had earlier announced that the service would be installed next month.
Radio Communication and Regulations Organization has allowed Wimax tender winner Mobin Net to operate in all provinces, IranCell in the six provinces of Tehran, East Azarbaijan, Isfahan, Razavi Khorasan, Fars and Khuzestan, Espadan in Isfahan Province and Rayaneh Danesh Golestan in Golestan Province.
The operators are to offer Wimax service nine months after receiving their license which is Nov 22.
Wimax is a wireless connection digital system and a suitable alternative to ADSL networks.
