Telecommunication networking in 5 Afghan cities with $20m fund: ICT Ministry

“Because of Afghanistan’s geographical location, fiber optic link is only possible as far as Harat city,” Behrouz Asrari Ershad told Mobna news agency.
“For connection to other Afghan cities, satellite communication will be used which is currently being established,” he said.
“Connection to Syria has been established via direct satellite communication since fiber optic cable link was not possible,” he added.
“It is planned that Iran donates gratuitous help to Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq for telecommunication projects. Telecommunication networking project in 5 Afghan cities with $20m fund is going to be complete and Afghanistan telecommunication training center restructuring with $6m fund is going to be launched,” he said.
