Hajjis lost sim cards to be active in two minutes: Telecom official

“Out of 140 cases of lost sim cards in Mecca and Medina, 106 sim cards were issued again and were provided to subscribers,” Telecommunication ministry dispatched team supervisor in Saudi Arabia Fazel Zamani said.
“If lost sim card is abused in first hour after it was stolen or lost it cost 1,540,000 rials (154 dollars) of fee charged to the subscriber,” he added.
“This money damage will cost the subscriber more than 36,960,000 rials (3,700 dollars),” he reminded.
“Call from Saudi Arabia to Iran for Al Jawal and Al Etihad operators per minute is 25,670 rials (2.5 dollars) and for Zain operator is 13,800 rials (1.3 dollars),” Zamani elaborated.
“More than 30,780 Iranian sim cards are active in Saudi Arabia. So far Iranian pilgrims have made more than 94,844 hours calls with Iran in this year Hajj days,” he added.
