Mobile phone pilot 3G network to be launched: official

“This pilot 3G network aims at gaining information and researching and studying it,” communication technology research center head Gholamreza Dadashzadeh said.
Communication technology research center is an affiliate of the telecommunication ministry.
“This network has capacity for 20,000 subscribers and will be launched soon, but only 200 subscribers will use this pilot network,” previously another telecommunication research center expert Abdolrasoul Zareie said about the project.
“High speed data transmission and changes in radio section as among mobile phone 3G network major features,” he added.
۳G technologies enable network operators to offer users (mobile phone subscribers) a wider range of more advanced services while achieving greater network capacity. Services include wide-area wireless voice telephony, video calls, and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment.
It should be mentioned that third mobile phone operator tender winner which will be announced by September-October is going to offer 3G services to applicants.
