Around 600 requests have been received for Wimax tender: official

Wimax, is a telecommunications technology aimed at providing wireless data over long distances in a variety of ways, from point-to-point links to full mobile cellular type access.
“Tehran has so far got 60, which puts on the high demand. We have also got some foreign companies who have requated the tender documents,” Wimax project manager Lotfollah Sabouhi told Mobna news agency.
“The deadline for buying tender documents is 6 August and the deadline for providing necessary documents to officials is 21 September,” he added.
“The tender will be held provincially and foreign and domestic companies can participate in it based on the present laws,” Sabouhi said.
“According to our schedule we try to offer Wimax license to tender winners in second half of Iranian year (22 September- 20 March) after applicants appraisals,” he added.
“Wimax certificate fee for Tehran is 209 billion rials (22 milliom dollars) and for South Khorasan, Kohkeluye o Buyer Ahmad and Ilam provinces is four billion rials (425,000 dollars),” Sabouhi said.
