Most cheap handsets have warranties

Recent survey shows that the due to the current 25 percent tariff on the imported mobile sets people tend to buy sets which are sold with certified warranties.
“Most official companies are importing cheap sets with the price range of 500,000 to 1.5 million rials (53 to 160 dollars) due to high tariffs,” Arash Rahnama a mobile set market expert told Mobna news agency. 
“Currently most of expensive sets are imported to the country through illegal channels.” He added.
He hoped that if the import tariff for the sets is reduced from the current 25 percent to five percent, smugglers can no longer manipulate the market.
