TCI’s two trillion rial annual income from sms

“The current tariffs for Persian and non-Persian sms are 89 and 222 rials respectively, and the General Inspection Organization has insisted all along that they should be reduced to 70 rials,” Sepehr Tavakoli told Mobna news agency.
He said this is in view of the fact that TCI’s total investment in sms has been estimated at around 100 billion rials.
He said the sms service incurs no extra financial burden on TCI and should be provided free of charge, as in most countries.
The present sms tariffs were decreed by the government in February 2008 effective from June 1.
